Porthtowan is a small coastal village located on the North coast of Cornwall between St. Agnes and St Ives. Being just eight miles North of Truro it is ideally located for exploring everything Cornwall has to offer. Porthtowan lies within a World Heritage Mining area and many unused historic engine houses can be seen in the close proximity. The sheltered valleys leading into Porthtowan are covered in broadleaved woodland which supports a huge diverse and plentiful range of wildlife. Porthtowan’s sandy beach is great for surfing for the more adventurous and it has plenty of rock pools to discover and explore for the little ones. Safe for the family, the beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during busy periods.
Porthtowan’s beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for exceptional quality and cleanliness for several years consecutively from 2004 through to 2020. We have been successful in achieving the Seaside Award, Category A- Resort Bathing Beach. This is the highest UK based award scheme recognising Porthtowan as a great beach with clean water coupled with facilities such as toilets and car parking.
This web site aims to showcase our incredible environment in and around Porthtowan along with the great opportunities and experiences we have to offer visitors to our village. FANTASTIC FILMS
