Temporary Windbreak Fencing

Hi Everyone
This email is going out to everyone on the mailing list of the Porthtowan Beach Association.

Hope all’s well.
Just to keep you posted, it is proposed that there will be temporary windbreak fencing erected down at the dunes in order to try and collect/prevent windblown sand coming onto the roads in the village. You will appreciate that clearing the roads of the sand through the Autumn and Winter months is a huge expense. The sand on the roadways and pavements in the village is a huge inconvenience to all concerned.
Doing nothing about this is not an option.
Please understand that this is a trial and the fencing will go up after the October half term and then taken down before Easter 2017.
Attached is further information along with diagrams of the scheme as finally put forward by Cornwall Council and Cormac. This information will also be published in the next Bolster magazine. After considerable input from the community the scheme has been carefully considered and approved by the main Porthtowan Beach Management Group. (this is made up of Cornwall Council, Parish Councillors, Porthtowan Beach Association, Porthtowan Dunes Community Group, Village Hall and the Surf Life Saving Club)
If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever please do not hesitate to give me a call on 01 209 891920 or email me at this address johnbarrow@live.com. (Please forward this info on).
All the best
John
