A group of musical children from the Mount Hawke Academy School Band and many from the village of Porthtowan have recorded an original Christmas single, Bright Christmas Star. This song was composed especially for them.
Aged between 6 and 11 years old, the children of Mount Hawke Academy School Band are led by parents Angeline Morrison and Rebecca Vickerstaff.
The band thoroughly enjoyed their first experience in a recording studio. Bright Christmas Star (written and arranged by Angeline Morrison of Freestyle Records) has been released as a download-only single on iTunes in time for Christmas.
Graham Jones of iconic ‘80s pop band Haircut 100 features on guitar. Graham, who is also a parent, recorded and produced the track for the children in Porthtowan.
If all their dreams come true, Mount Hawke Academy School Band will be the first Cornish Primary School to make Christmas Number One!
